Every client deserves to feel safe, supported and understood—especially when navigating cancer treatment, transplant recovery, scarring or changes in skin health. Some treatments simply are not the right fit for every stage, and that is completely okay.

At House of Beauty WP, I take a gentle, individual approach. Before recommending a treatment, I listen to your concerns, discuss your health history and make sure the plan feels comfortable and appropriate for you. You can also read about our skin needling approach.

Why I may ask for medical guidance

If you are receiving chemotherapy, recovering from cancer treatment, have recently had a transplant, or are managing a significant skin condition, please speak with your specialist or medical team before booking. I may ask for a letter confirming that they are happy for the proposed treatment to proceed and outlining any instructions I should follow.

This documentation is not intended to make the process difficult. It helps me understand your current needs, avoid unsuitable techniques or products, and work respectfully alongside your medical team. Please tell me if your medication, treatment or health circumstances change.

Treatments may still be available

Medical circumstances do not always mean that every beauty treatment is off the table. Depending on your individual situation and your medical team’s advice, I may be able to offer a calm, non-invasive appointment focused on comfort, hydration and gentle care.

Possible options may include a soft cleanse, soothing moisturiser, hydration, cool low-friction movements, relaxation holds, and gentle neck, shoulder massage or scalp massage where appropriate. I will avoid anything your medical team has advised against and adjust or stop the appointment if you feel uncomfortable.

Scarring and sensitive skin

Scarring can make skin feel different, tight or sensitive. I will never assume that a technique is suitable simply because it is commonly used. When I may postpone

I may recommend waiting if your skin is broken, infected, actively irritated or unusually fragile, if you are unwell, recovering from surgery, or if your doctor has advised caution. Your wellbeing always comes first. If your skin or health needs extra time, I will simply reschedule and support you as best I can.

A warm note about products

Products and ingredients are chosen thoughtfully, not automatically. Your medical advice, medication, skin condition and any known sensitivities all matter. I may ask to review your medical team’s guidance before selecting products, and I can keep the appointment simple and comfortable.

What to bring to your consultation

Please bring or send any relevant treatment instructions, product restrictions or medical clearance your specialist has provided. You are welcome to ask questions before booking. Honest, clear communication helps me plan a treatment that respects both your comfort and your health journey.
